The Nature of Fashion

The Nature of Fashion

Did you ever wonder what you are looking at when you look at nature. The beauty of color this time of year is so brilliant and energizing. As the buds open up against the grey “end of winter” background we see mother natures very own fashion design studio. I’m not sure if it is a conscious or sub-conscious thing that gives me my inspiration, but I am happy it happens to me.

My daffodils loving the sunshine! I love them because they along with my forsythia’s and tulips just pop up every spring. Not sure what to wear today, look out your window maybe something yellow with a little green or something green with a little yellow.

Daffodils in Nature inspire Yellow Chale Scarf Water in Nature is another wonderment and we all like to be near water. Water moving back and forth over the sandy beach is a natural way for mother nature to create texture in her background.

Water inspires this Chale Eyelet Scarf

An early spring hike along the shores of Lake Ontario shows me that neutral colors are a key element for any wardrobe. Spark it up with your favorite red or the very popular tangerine tango.

When I took this picture of these beautiful white cherry blossoms the print came out upside down. All I was able to see was a beautiful white scarf with lattice cut outs around the boarder and my favorite blue dress.

Cherry Tree Inspiration for Eyelet ScarfNow the next time you say “I don’t know what to wear today” You only need to do 2 things:

1. Just look out your window and see what colors, textures, and designs mother nature has created for your viewing pleasure.

2. Call or email Jill @ Jill Bates Fashion and come to her studio and select the best chale energy scarves for your wardrobe.

Happy Spring!

Fashion Gives You Time

Do you waste too much time trying to figure out what to wear each day? It doesn’t matter if you are dressing for the gym, the office, or driving the kids around. I have discovered that many women share this common problem/disease. It doesn’t have to be that way. I can save you 1 minute per day, by not trying to decide what to wear, that works out to be 6 hours a year. Can you picture what you would do with 6 free hours? 6 hours all to yourself. No one barging in, no one demanding, asking or pushing you. If you convert those hours to cash that can really add up too! Think about what you would do with $120 + dollars.(I am being conservative calculating your hourly rate) That is a least a nice spa afternoon.

Here’s how you do it; wear a scarf. They have become the go-to accessory that has been adopted by all the fashionistas and fashion gurus. They are year round and are showing up in unique places; not just where dresses are sold, but gift shops,  coffee shops, winery’s to name a few. They are finding a permanent place in our wardrobes, as scarves are as important as necklaces, earrings, shoes, and all the other pieces that complement what we are wearing. You can cover up with a scarf, you can open up with it. You just need a top and a bottom or a dress, and a scarf!  You are dressed and ready to take on your day. Think about it. 1 minute a day. For some women it may be 2 minutes a day and then you are up to 12 hours a year and at least $240.00!

I have designed a line of scarves that I call chales (pronounced SHAH LAYS). They work for you. They each have 3 energy stones sewed in them and channel that stones properties all through you. Now not only have I just given you lots of “me” time,  I also gave you a way to gain more energy, creativity, willpower, whatever it is that your body & mind need right now.

Saving time getting dressed in the morning will not happen over nite. It is a lifestyle change. A change that is very doable.

“She knew a chale scarf was one of her best accessories, so she made up her mind to wear it every day.”
